Summer is over

Its the day after labor day and the weather is already starting to cool. Mateo had an amazing summer. He took his first extended trip to Spain and he learned a few phrases. He is not as bilingual as Matilda was at the same age, but his English is better than Matilda’s was. His favorite phrase in Spanish is “no quiero” and in English he likes to say “want it”.

Mateo learned to love the beach and to eat jamon! His favorite playmate was cousin Marina who was the world’s best mother’s helper.

Now we are back and starting lots of new things. Mateo will start going to preschool part-time and will also start taking art and music classes. He is incredibly active, as you can imagine. Our furniture is getting destroyed.

Perfect Weekend

Friday afternoon we had a little party with a surprise visit from Clive and Julianna, and then Tina, Cory and Dalton came to play.

Saturday, we went to Central Park with some friends to enjoy the beautiful spring weather.

We enjoyed some music.

And on Sunday we got a visit from Aunt Margaret and Uncle Rob!

Big Boy

Mateo is such a big boy now. He is cutting his 11th tooth, he is super heavy, has started running and is very talkative. He has also started throwing tantrums. Here we go with toddler #2!

Mateo turns 1 today! And what an accomplished 1 year old he is! He can walk, climb up and down the stairs, has 8 teeth and can say a few words like look, bye, no and Matilda.

Will post some pics later of Mateo wearing his birthday tuxedo and doing a little birthday dance.
